Developers and servers retire ancient builds. Expiry screens differ from ban timers.
How to Check Your Installed Version
Open About in GB WhatsApp and compare with the publisher’s latest release notes.
What to Do When an Expiry Message Appears
Back up, then update from a source you evaluate. Avoid random APK hopping.
Update, Reinstall or Switch to Official WhatsApp?
If updates fail repeatedly, diagnose update failures before uninstalling. For enforcement messages, see account security.
Protecting Your Chats Before Changing Versions
Confirm backup files exist before removing the expired build.
